THE Work

Healing is meant for all of us. Our bodies instinctively know how to heal if they are shown the proper way. Healing is how we get our power back, it is the pathway home. The body has its own way of recording information and by focusing inward on the body we can discover what is operating underneath our awareness. When done over a period of time, this work informs us how to open and release tension held in the body and how to find safety within.

In addition to holding focused attention on the body and the sensations arising, this work also acknowledges the belief that our bodies are a manifestation of spirit itself. When we allow healing in one area, such as the body, this affects everything else in a synergistic motion. The intent of the work is to create a stronger connection to self, to develop a language that allows you to commune with your body, emotions, and inner world so that you can interact with life from a more centered, and connected place.

THE Connection

This work is a collaborative relationship. This is a relationship of trust, mutual respect, communication, and care. I ask that you bring yourself to the table with an open mind, that you communicate with me what you are feeling and experiencing throughout the session. My intent is for us to navigate and explore together what is inside of you. We will only go where you feel safe, where you can breathe, and where you can truly receive. By forming this kind of connection you will learn how to affirm and validate yourself so that you can get what you need. This process takes time and the work is best received over a series of sessions so that we are able to orient to you and your process.

My Story

I embarked on my career journey with a desire to help others, as I had been helped. Toward the end of my time at university studying Social Work, I recognized the importance of a more holistic approach to healing, one that encompassed not only the mind but the body and the spirit. After graduation, I became a certified Yoga instructor and graduated from the Natural Epicurean Culinary Arts Academy. It was during this period of additional study, I discovered the part massage could play in creating profound transformation within. I was fortunate to be exposed to an awareness based massage therapist who inspired me to take up this path of work.

A few years later I received my certification in Massage Therapy from the Asheville School of Massage and Yoga. I also have experience in a myriad of bodywork and healing modalities including Esalen Massage, Thai Table Bodywork, Facial Softening with Gua Sha and Cupping, Chi Nei Tsang, Deep Tissue Release, and Ancient Lomi Lomi. Additionally, I am a Breath Work Healer and a Shamanic and Intuitive Healing Guide.
